THERE THERE

This post was actually diana’s idea which we never got around to poasting until recently.

Actually, if I think really hard about it, the girls could be interchangeable as they all strongly believe in magic, use stories as a tool to reject the bullshit of the real world, and they are all awesome. But there are little differences that i noticed, like

Laraine would be Ofelia because of this quote

“have you seen my mother? she is very beautiful?”

Do I even need to explain that? I think that Ofelia’s mom was so integral to her character and that’s just your entire life OK. Also, Pan’s Labyrinth was just such a trip.

While re-watching The Secret Garden, i realized na Diana really is Mary just by listening to her talk.

“If everyone thought that about me, I wouldn’t do it.” - Mary on Colin dying

“you, you… YOU DAUGHTER OF A PIG!” - i forget who she said it to, but i cracked up after this.

and of course, THIS (which will remind everyone of Diana)

Martha: “Now what would you like to wear? Black, black, or black?”

Mary: “Are you blind? They’re all black.”

Now that I think about it, THAT’S even funnier than the pic insult. Mary was the one who realized that Colin’s only sickness was selfishness and also he was a sociopath in the making. Diana would be the first one of us three to extend kindness to a person we did not like. And also, Mary says that in the secret garden, animals tell her their secrets. Who does that sound like, i ask you.

Hannah would be Sara because she is kulot, wears white most of the time and befriends a black girl. Also, she goes away from home to go to school.

Well-mannered, optimistic, reserved, friendly, non-violent, plays by different rules, taste-fully brought up.

Has a fighting spirit. Not a defeatist.

An adventure girl is always changing, learning and applying what she knows.

An adventure girl is funny.

An adventure girl has to learn to be goal oriented.

An adventure girl works on her feet.

An adventure girl is good-hearted

An adventure girl trusts her own instincts

An adventure girl takes advantage of a boring situation

An adventure girl is special, but she could be anyone as well.

An adventure girl never forgets an adventure.

1.       Never forget own name or goal, distractions along the adventure are meant to derail you.

10.   Look for hidden treasure

12.   Tell stories (know some good ones by heart)

13.   Every evil dude has a weakness

14.   Trust your sibling/s

15.   Learn to fight

16.   The bad guy wants you to be alone and weak, to ruin his plan, one must be popular and well loved.

17.   Make friends with the abused big guy

18.   Don’t let them buy you, don’t let them tame you, don’t let them consume you

19.   Always explain politely

If you cant see something, look at it through a hole.

20.   Don’t be afraid to take an extra step (that step could just be the rabbit hole)

21.   The adventure is always there, you have to learn to find it, and know when its over.
